This program is the arrangement of temporary, full-time care and support of children who have been removed from their caregivers due to a variety of reasons.
Respite Care provides a brief break for families and a chance for youth to socialize through a variety of activities. As a respite provider, you can go into the home of the foster parents or have the children come to your home.
Full-time care and support of children by adults with family relations, that are not a parent. Regularly, this care is given by grandparents, aunts, uncles, aunts, siblings, cousin, or fictive-kin (as in teachers, coaches, a close friend of family, etc.) when caregivers are unable to provide care to their children.
A lasting and legal marriage between parents and children. We assist in the adoptions of children in the Arizona state foster care system.
Onward Hope will help arrange training, support, placement assistance, and guidance throughout this life changing process.
Our experienced staff help educate caregivers, whose children have been removed from their care, on parenting and coping skills, in addition to supervising visitation between the children and the caregiver to foster healthy parent-child relationships.
We match youth currently in foster care, ages 15-18, with alumni of foster care or foster/adoptive parents who have cared specifically for teens in care.
This match is a two-year commitment made to assist the youth in transitioning more successfully to adulthood.
Coming Soon... this drop-in center will be available to youth and alumni, in and from foster care, ages 15+.
You can take a workshop, watch TV, or talk to an Independent Transition Specialist about your future goals.
Held in December each year, we provide gifts, treats, and fun to all of our foster/adoptive children, youth and their families during the holidays.
It's a time for Onward Hope to give, fellowship and share, especially to those who need it most.
Every May we celebrate National Foster Care Awareness Month, by celebrating and appreciating the hard work and sacrifices our foster and adoptive families make each year. We honor each parent and enjoy a carnival style picnic.
We also recognize youth, families, staff, board members and community members or organizations that have made a significant impact in the foster care community, through our Angel and Core Value Awards.
Time to celebrate the kiddos returning to school. We provide a backpack full of supplies to each child.
Additionally, we host a back to school movie. This is one last chance for the family to gather before returning to the in-school routine.
Every Fall we dress up in our costumes and give thanks at our Fall Family Carnival.
We play games, host interactive costume contest, and eat yummy pumpkin pie in a safe, warm and friendly environment. A great way to meet other foster parents.
